Acceptance of Terms

By installing and using Iran Amplifier ("the Extension"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please uninstall the extension.

Description of Service

Iran Amplifier is a browser extension that helps generate AI-powered responses on X (formerly Twitter) to support Iranian civil society, human rights, and democratic movements. This extension does not automate posting, coordinate users, or generate identical messages.

Independence Disclaimer

This is an independent, open-source project not affiliated with any political party, organization, or individual. Any similarity to other names or products is coincidental.

Your Responsibilities

By using this extension, you agree to:

  • Provide your own valid API key from OpenAI or Anthropic
  • Use the extension in compliance with X's Terms of Service
  • Use the extension in compliance with your AI provider's Terms of Service
  • Not use the extension to harass, threaten, or harm individuals
  • Not use the extension to spread disinformation or propaganda
  • Take responsibility for content you choose to post

API Key Security

Your API key is stored locally on your device only.

  • We do NOT transmit your API key to any server except your chosen AI provider
  • We do NOT have access to your API key
  • We CANNOT see, use, or misuse your API key
  • Your key never leaves your browser except when making direct API calls to OpenAI/Anthropic

You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your API key secure
  • Monitoring your API usage and costs
  • Revoking your key if you suspect unauthorized use

Mission & Content Guardrails

This extension is mission-locked to support Iranian civil society. The extension includes guardrails that:

  • Prevent generation of content supporting the Iranian regime
  • Block attempts to generate hate speech, threats, or disinformation
  • Cannot be bypassed through custom prompts

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE EXTENSION IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. We make no guarantees about:

  • Accuracy of AI-generated content
  • Availability of the service
  • Compatibility with all systems
  • The actions of third-party AI providers

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • We are not liable for any damages arising from use of this extension
  • We are not liable for content you choose to post
  • We are not liable for API costs incurred through your API key
  • We are not responsible for actions taken by OpenAI or Anthropic

Acceptable Use

You may NOT use this extension to:

  • Generate content that violates laws in your jurisdiction
  • Impersonate others or create misleading content
  • Circumvent the mission guardrails
  • Reverse engineer or modify the extension for malicious purposes
  • Use in automated systems or bots without human oversight

Intellectual Property

  • The extension is open source under its license terms
  • Generated content is subject to the terms of your AI provider
  • You retain rights to content you create and post

Termination

We reserve the right to:

  • Modify or discontinue the extension at any time
  • Update these terms with notice through release notes
  • Block access to remote configuration for policy violations

Third-Party Services

This extension integrates with:

You are responsible for complying with the terms of any third-party service you use through this extension.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the developers and contributors from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the extension
  • Content you generate or post
  • Your violation of these terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights

Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these terms shall be:

  • First attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation
  • Subject to the laws of the jurisdiction where the primary maintainer resides

Severability

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

Entire Agreement

These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and the developers regarding your use of the extension.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by applicable law. For EU users, nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights under GDPR or other applicable EU laws.
